You don’t want a voltage drop slowing you down right when you’re hitting your stride. Built to take a beating These aren’t your average light bulbs. We make them out of high-purity quartz glass because it can handle the “thermal shock” of being turned on and off constantly without cracking. We also fill the tubes with halogen gas. This lets the filament run hotter without wearing out the tungsten too quickly. It means your heat stays steady for thousands of hours. Plus, we use R7s or Sk15 connectors. Why? Because when a tube finally does burn out, your maintenance person can swap it in under two minutes and get the line moving again. Making it work in the real world These tubes are a dream for searing the surface of a snack or thawing out frozen appetizers quickly. The shortwave radiation gets deep into the food fast, so you don’t end up with a burnt exterior and a frozen center. But you have to be careful with the setup. If your mounting bracket is even slightly tilted, you’ll get hot spots that scorch your food. And here’s a big one: keep your reflectors clean.
