Let’s be honest: being locked into OEM parts is a headache. Most engineers I talk to are tired of being forced into those expensive cycles just because a component is “brand-specific.” It feels like a trap. That’s why we built our infrared lamps to be simple drop-in replacements for Krones Contiform and other PET blowing lines. The nitty-gritty on power and fit
To get PET preforms to the right temperature, you need serious heat density. We use a 400V setup, which lets us push more power through a shorter tube without blowing a circuit. But power is nothing without a perfect fit. If a lamp rattles in the oven rack, you’re losing heat reflection and basically throwing energy away. We keep the lengths and diameters exact. No gaps, no shaking, and zero modifications needed to your reflectors. It just clicks in.
Built to actually last
Rapid cycling is brutal on glass. To stop them from cracking under thermal shock, we use heavy-wall quartz. Inside, the halogen fill keeps the tungsten evaporation steady. In plain English? The lamps don’t burn out nearly as fast. We also stuck with standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. You can wire them straight into your existing sockets. No adapters, no “special” tools, no fuss.
A quick heads-up on the heat
These lamps are great at hitting the preform body with shortwave radiation while keeping the neck cool. That’s the goal. But there’s a trade-off you should know about. When you run these at peak wattage, the inside of your oven is going to get hot. Really hot. Before you swap them out, check your blower fans. Make sure they’re clean and your cooling system can handle the extra load. If you ignore the airflow, you risk warping your oven frames over time. It’s a straightforward hardware swap. You get your line back up and running without waiting on the OEM or paying their “premium” prices.
